SPAs

Korbous, Ain Oktor, Hammam Bourguiba and Jebel Oust are the most popular spas in Tunisia. They are managed by the National Office of Thermalism and operated by highly qualified medical and para-medical staff.

AIN OKTOR

Water: mineral spring salted with slight amounts of chlorinated sodium.

Therapeutic Indications: renal lithiasis, excess uric acids, excess moderate urea, urinary infection, and defected urinary system.

Thermal Treatment: water to be taken progressively and in quantities range from 600 to 1200 cubic cm in graduated doses.

Location: 5 km from Korbus and 50 km from Tunis.

KORBUS

Water: seven chlorinated sulphur springs.

Therapeutic Indications: Chronic rheumatism, sequela of osteo-articular traumas, paralysis, sequela of hemiplegia and paralegia, stomatological disorders, certain gynaecological or pediatric disorders.

Thermal Treatment: Medical tube baths, tub balneotherapy, foothbath and armbath, water jet showers, underwater showers.

Location: North coast of Cap-Bon (50 km from Tunis and 60 km from Hammamet).

JEBEL OUST

Water: Chloro-sulphuric salt

Therapeutic Indications: Rheumatisms (degenerative, chronic inflammatory, painful stiffening peri-arthrosis of the shoulder, etc.), Sequela of osteo-articular traumas (osseous, articular, muscular, and surgical), arthritic diathesis (gout, obesity, and cellulite), gynaecological and stomatological disorders.

Thermal Treatment: Massage, dry kinestherapy, pulley therapy, mecano-therapy, electro-therapy, and medical gymnastics.

Location: 31km from Tunis and 100 km from Hammamet.

HAMMAM BOURGUIBA

Water: slightly chlorinated with some soda content.

Therapeutic indications: treatment of upper respiratory infections.

Therapeutic Treatments: All chronic or recurring infections of the respiratory passages of catarrhal origin and allergic inflammations (head colds, sinusitis, ear hemorrhage, recurring pneumonia, bronchitis, etc,…).

Thermal Treatments: ORL sprays, Inhalation of sulphuric gas, pulverization, aerosol and tubal sprays.

Location: North-West, 208 km from Tunis and 32 km from Tabarka.
