Kourbous
The health-giving springs. From Soliman, it is easy to “hop over” to Korbous, the old Caldiae Aquae of the Roman aristocrats and nobles. Perched on a cliff high above the waves, amid wild greenery and rock, the spa has always attracted visitors and offers four springs with curative qualities. Flowing at a temperature of 50º to 60º C, these waters treat arthritic afflictions, cellulites or hypertension, as well as rheumatism, the after-effects of osteoarticular traumatisms and obesity.
Around the principal spring “Ain El Kebira”, brought into use by the spa company and accommodated in a former Bey’s pavilion, there are other springs which welcome all those who believe in the therapeutic properties of the waters; there is “Ain-Ichfa” (Spring of Health) with digestive properties; “Ain El Atrous” (Spring of the Goat) 1 km north of the village; “Ain Arraka” (The Hot Spring), and “Ain-Sbiya” (Spring of the Virgin) for care of the skin and for digestive troubles. Some people even believe that certain of these springs save women from the “evil” of sterility!…
